Whether you have a new kitten or puppy, or need to update vaccinations, let our team provide information and treatments that are tailored to your pet’s lifestyle. Risk of exposure to certain diseases is determined by your pet’s activities and environment.
Does your dog frequent dog parks? Does your cat meet other cats outside?
Lyme disease, which is transmitted by deer ticks, is present in the greater Montreal and Montérégie areas. How can you protect your dog? Are there really ticks on the island of Montreal? Don’t hesitate to contact us with questions.
We use x-rays to help offer the most efficient and rapid care (ie. for fractures, ingestion of a foreign object, gallstones, cardiac problems, arthritis, herniated disc, constipation, etc.).
DNA genetic testing
Using a blood sample, we can identify a dog or cat’s breed up to four generations. Simply request more information.
Depending on the situation, your pet could be hospitalized for a few hours or a few days. At times, hospitalization is necessary to confirm a diagnosis, to allow an animal to recuperate after surgery, or to care for a specific health issue (diarrhea, vomiting, etc.).
Our priority is an animal’s well-being during any kind of hospitalization. Our staff will take care of monitoring general health and specific veterinary care. By establishing a clear treatment plan, each animal is examined daily and pet owners are fully kept up-to-date regarding progress and any medical changes.
Furthermore, our staff will handle feeding, cage cleaning and grooming. Our entire team works together to get your pet home as quickly as possible!
We also encourage pet owners to visit their animal friends during a hospital stay. This is comforting and uplifting! Rest assured, we also shower your pets with love and attention.
Boarding and nail care
We board cats, rodents and rabbits 7 days a week, and small dogs on weekdays. To protect your pet's health, we require that all vaccinations be up-to-date. The required vaccines are:
- Routine vaccine (DHPP) and kennel cough (Bordetella) for dogs
- Routine vaccine (PRCC) for cats
We also offer nail care services for dogs, cats and exotic animals
Consultations are available with or without an appointment, during consultation hours. We also conduct home visits.
We can lend you a cat transport crate.
Since 2011, the CLINIQUE VÉTÉRINAIRE ANIMOMÉDIC has had the pleasure of giving many cats a second chance at life! This is the case for both alley cats and others born in different areas. Unfortunately, overpopulation as well as abandoned pets has created a very real problem in the city.
Some kittens are sadly found in a very bad state and are brought to the clinic by loving individuals who want to save them. Even though we are not a shelter, we have decided to do whatever we can to help these little creatures.
We’ve even had a litter born at the clinic! An x-ray confirmed that an abandoned cat was pregnant and would be joined by her kittens in only a few weeks.
The good news? Each animal was adopted. We took care of them, socialized them, and also handled vaccinations, deworming and spaying/neutering.
When it comes to dogs, our technician Jessie even took little Naru (Akita) under her wing. Naru had a parvovirus, a deadly virus if left untreated. The same applies to Mica (Labernese) and Enzo (Rottweiler) who are Dr. Potrawiak’s dogs. They survived after being abandoned by their previous owners.
The clinic also offers dental services. We can:
- Examine the animal's mouth, handle scaling and polishing under general anesthesia
- Assess the situation for possible treatment solutions
We also provide: oral infection treatments, surgical extraction of teeth, removal of an oral tumor, etc.
We also file rabbit and rodent teeth.
On site cardiology and internal medicine
We are fortunate to collaborate with cardiology and internal medicine specialists who work with our team, on site, to offer cardiac ultrasounds and internal medicine consultations for specific conditions (ie. complex metabolic and cardiac diseases).
