ABOUT CLINIQUE VÉTÉRINAIRE ANIMOMÉDIC
Dr. Anne-Marie Potrawiak
Fascinated by animals since childhood, Dr. Potrawiak discovered her love for animals at a very early age. In 2001, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Wildlife Biology from McGill University and studied wild animals in their natural environments. She also participated in research projects in Barbados, Namibia and South Africa. Dr. Potrawiak graduated from the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. In 2011, she became the owner of the CLINIQUE VÉTÉRINAIRE ANIMOMÉDIC, which has been serving the community for more than 20 years.
Dr. Potrawiak brought new life to the clinic. For example, medicine and surgery as well as emergency services were reintegrated into the clinic’s treatment plans. Alternative medicine options were also made available. This allowed the clinic to grow and better accommodate its varied clientele. As a result, the clinic has adopted an integrative approach, combining elements of traditional medicine with acupuncture, homeopathy and soon osteopathy.
In addition to internal medicine and surgery, Dr. Anne-Marie Potrawiak is also very interested in alternative and holistic pet health care. She incorporates elements of homeopathy, herbal medicine and Chinese medicine (acupuncture, electro acupuncture and Chinese herbs) to treat all kinds of animals. Dr. Potrawiak has completed post-doctoral studies in veterinary acupuncture. In 2013, she earned international level certification from the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) and is a member of the Association of Veterinary Acupuncturists of Canada (AVAC). She is also a member of the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies (CIVT).
Even with her busy schedule, Dr. Potrawiak takes care of two dogs of her own, both of which were rescued when they were 3 months old: Mica, a Labernese, and Enzo, a Rottweiler. In order to maintain a work/life balance, Dr. Potrawiak enjoys getting out into nature and practices Qi Gong. Dr. Potrawiak also takes time to tend to her garden in Verchères. She is a runner and completed the Montreal half-marathon in 2012, the Montreal marathon in 2013, the 10km in Ottawa and the Mont Tremblant half-marathon in 2014.
Jessie Bouchard, Animal Health Technician
Jessie completed her studies in animal health technology in 2003. She joined the clinic in 2012 and is currently the chief technician. She is passionate about her work and loves animals. She takes care of them with full professionalism, all the while ensuring the medical and surgical services are operating correctly. She recently rescued an Akita who would have otherwise been put down at the clinic. Little Naru was infected with parvovirus (deadly if left untreated), but with Jessie’s care and dedication, Naru is now in great shape!
Jessie also has two cats (Astrid and Mini-plume) and two birds (Delphine and Charlotte).
Gabrielle: Receptionist and Assistant Technician
Gabrielle joined the team in 2014, working as a technician’s assistant and a customer service clerk. Passionate about her work, she listens carefully to all clients and is very attentive.
She has worked in the animal industry for a long time, holding several different positions. Gabrielle has a weakness for her Cornish Rex cat! She also loves Greyhounds and everything related to the world of horses.
Zoe Wallace: Animal Health Technician
Pamela: Our Queen
You will quickly be charmed by our cat Pamela! She can usually be found sitting at the reception desk and is always in a very cuddly mood. Since 2011, we have saved quite a few abandoned kittens. We took the time to socialize them, to administer any necessary treatments and, of course, to spay/neuter them. We are so pleased that each cat found an adoptive family! Pamela is one of these kittens and she has decided to take up residence with us. She has reigned the clinic ever since!
